Overview David Thompson Studio started business in San Jose in 1994. After nine years as an in-house Illustrator and Graphic Designer at a Fortune 500 company, Tandem Computers, I started freelancing out of my home office handling graphic design and production contracts with Actel, Integrated Systems, and eventually Adobe Systems. As a sub contractor for South SF Bay agencies, I worked for small agencies; Steve & Steve Advertising, Cornen & Shen, and larger agencies; TMP Worldwide, and Lai, Venuti and Lai. I started my career in 1980 as a Technical Illustrator with a solid foundation in drafting. I have drafted and illustrated for NASA's International Space Station, and for Lockheed and Westinghouse Marine Division's Minuteman, Trident and MX Nuclear Missile Programs. That's how I got into high tech and started at Tandem as an Illustrator. Today I can draft scale building plans, elevation drawings in AutoCAD and architectural renderings in 3D computer applications. In 2001 we moved to Paradise to raise our kids. In 2003 my wife, Dawn, joined the business. DTstudio continues to be an Adobe Systems Vendor playing a key role in User Manual and CIB book production. Dawn is AC for the Adobe account. Most of our clients are away from the Paradise/Chico Area. To start a project, first we determine the scope. We often start with a creative brief. This aligns the creative with the business objectives. We review your input and give you a written estimate. The estimate is based on the total number of hours we think it will take. It's that simple. If you want a bid on a 'web site' then we need to fully describe what details and functions the web site requires.
